Security

What exactly is security? Enough food? Protected borders? A strong military?

When you think about it, none of the things that are traditionally associated with security can outperform relationship as a reliable source of security in the world today.

Relationship: "The only reliable resource of security today."

What does this mean? If you take away all your preconceived notions of what makes up security and just look at the reality on Earth. When relationships are healthy, security is high. When there is suspicion, doubt, misunderstanding, anger or blame, then no amount of military force can ultimately make you secure.

That is why, in the 1980s, people working in Palo Alto, and around the world, came to the conclusion that "War is Obsolete." There is just no getting around it. This institution no longer works!

This amazing insight is the foundation for this Web site, and the basis for suggesting that, if we want to NEVER have another war like the one currently going on in Iraq, we must retire the institution of war itself.

Only be ending our dependence on this protocol for resolving conflict will we ever be totally secure.

Beyond War

There are many groups currently working to move beyond war. The original foundation promoting this thinking was located in California. It worked to move the world beyond war and was very successful at changing the direction of the "Cold War."

Now, Beyond War is located in Oregon. If you wish to see what they are doing, please visit: beyondwar.org.

Identity

Many people today are talking about a shift in identity for our species... an expanded level of concern to include the entire living community on Earth. One group working on this is Global MindShift. They have many useful resources at their Web site.
