"Stay in, get out, do this, don't dothat."You can hear the discussions go on and on... in the media, government, on
TV, within our communities.
But what about the
institution of war? Who is talking about that? And if we don't talk about
the institution of war, doesn't it make sense that we are just going to have
another war... another Iraq?
The goal of this Web site is to facilitate a
global conversation about war.
In the 1980s, people examined the institution of war and came to the conclusion
that
war is obsolete. That was over 20
years ago. But, since we still rely upon war to resolve conflict, the wars go on
and people continue to die. What we need is a new context.
If watching this video has motivated you, please continue to explore this Web
site. We have a golden opportunity now to look at the war in Iraq from a
different perspective and learn from it. If we will step back and ask
broader questions, about the institution of war in general, we can move
through this moment into a safer and more benevolent world.
In order to create a global conversation about the institution of war,
we need to use the Internet and e-mail as resources. Everyone knows others who
might share an interest in this. If you feel that the time is right to see
war in a new
context, please refer your friends
and co-workers to this Web site.
paste it into your e-mail messages and get started today!
P.S. By putting the "http://" before the Web site address your
recipient will be able to open the link directly from within the body of the
e-mail itself.

One final note:
Beyond Iraq is a work in progress. The pages will be
improved and augmented as time goes on. Please do not wait until every page is
finished or perfect to begin creating awareness about this subject. If we all
work just a little bit, a global mindshift can occur and we can retire the
institution of war permanently from our planet!
